چکیده

An investigation of the nonlinear absorption of a wide range of structurally diverse porphyrin monomers, bisporphyrins and trisporphyrins, using open Z-scan technique with 6 ns pulsed laser operating at 532 nm was carried out. Using the theory of reverse saturable absorption, the intensity dependent nonlinear absorption coefficient eff was deduced from the experiments. Monomers which Soret band maximum was situated closer to the experimental wavelength had higher eff. The eff of dimers and trimers were in the same range as for monomers. The highest eff = 5.3 10 cmW was found for a zinc complex of 5,15-A2B2 type porphyrins with 3-methoxyphenyl and trimethylsilyl-ethynyl groups in the meso positions. 1 Corresponding author. Extended π-conjugated ruthenium zinc-porphyrin complexes with enhanced nonlinear-optical properties.

Zinc porphyrin dimers and trimers, in which the porphyrins are connected via a ruthenium metal core, exhibit large third-order nonlinear optical absorption coefficients and refractive indices. These properties are a result of the presence of multiple porphyrins, which lead to an extension of the π-conjugated system and the octupolar effect.

Oligomerization of humic phenolic monomers by oxidative coupling under biomimetic catalysis.

Three humic phenolic monomers, catechol (CAT), caffeic acid (CAFF), and p-coumaric acid (COUM), were subjected to oxidative coupling catalyzed by biomimetic water-soluble iron-porphyrin (Fe(TDCPPS)CI) in either separate or mixed solution, and the reaction products were characterized by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and electrospray-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). The GC-MS analysis p...

RAMAN SPECTROSCOPY OF CHROMIUM OXIDE SUPPORTED ON A1,03, TiOz AND Si02: A COMPARATIVE STUDY

The interaction of chromium oxide with Alz03, TiOz and SiO? supports is investigated with Raman spectroscopy. The influence of the nature of the oxide support, calcination temperature and chromium oxide loading upon the molecular state of the supported chromium oxide is determined. The Raman studies reveal that the oxide supports stabilize the chromium oxide as Cr(V1) in tetrahedral coordinatio...

Correlating second harmonic optical responses of single Ag nanoparticles with morphology.

Femtosecond laser excited second harmonic (SH) activity from single Ag nanoparticles is reported. A correlation of SH single-particle measurements with high-resolution imaging of particle morphology by TEM was achieved by creating position markers on an optical and electron transparent substrate (Si3N4 thin film, approximately 100 nm). We compared the SH activity of single Ag nanoparticles (nan...

C-16 artemisinin derivatives and their antimalarial and cytotoxic activities: syntheses of artemisinin monomers, dimers, trimers, and tetramers by nucleophilic additions to artemisitene.

Nucleophilic additions of lithium keto and ester enolates and mono- and bifunctional Grignard reagents to artemisitene provided C-16-derived artemisinin monomers, dimers, trimers, and tetramers whose antimalarial and cytotoxic activities have been evaluated.
